Alliant Management Services to partner with Healthcare Authority of the City of Eufaula

EUFAULA (AL) –MCBH, LLC. and the Healthcare Authority of the City of Eufaula announced today that an Operating Agreement has been signed to operate Medical Center Barbour, from the Healthcare Authority of the City of Eufaula, beginning on December 1, 2017. The initial term of the agreement is for 15 years with the options to extend the agreement for an additional 30 years. As part of this agreement Alliant Management Services will manage the Medical Center Barbour for MCBH, LLC.

The staff at Medical Center Barbour does an excellent job and this partnership will help them continue the quality care we've come to expect,” City of Eufaula Mayor Jack Tibbs, said.

Medical Center Barbour is a not for profit, state certified acute care facility licensed for 74 beds. For more than 50 years it has served the healthcare needs of Eufaula’s community through emergency, surgical and acute care services.  Medical Center Barbour strives to provide safe, high quality healthcare appropriate to the needs of its customers in a caring and cost effective manner.

Southeast Alabama Medical Center Comments

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) has a longstanding relationship with Medical Center Barbour and currently manages the hospital. During the past year, community leaders in Eufaula and Barbour County have been working with SAMC’s leadership team to evaluate all options that could lead to a stronger future for Medical Center Barbour.

SAMC, the region’s largest tertiary care center, is supportive of MCB’s decision to seek a new partner. AMS currently operates another hospital within SAMC’s service area and SAMC has forged a positive working relationship with the company. “Our goal throughout our relationship with the Healthcare Authority of the City of Eufaula has always been to ensure the residents of Barbour County had access to quality care.
