From an early age, Brandy Dowling knew she wanted to help get folks back on their feet. Nowadays, she is living her life’s dream.
Dowling owns and operates Price Drug Company on East Broad Street in downtown Eufaula. The shop not only provides a friendly, hometown location to get prescriptions filled, but also offers gift options.
“We are an independent retail pharmacy located right downtown in Eufaula,” Dowling said. “We offer pharmacy services and can help patients receive any of the medicines they need. We also have gift items as well. We have a variety of items that would be perfect for graduation, Mother’s Day or any celebration you have planned. We will wrap it too!”
Dowling’s journey to being a pharmacist took her through high school, a stint at Troy University and earning a degree from Auburn. However, her journey got its start much earlier.
“Before high school, I decided I wanted to go in to the medical field in some sort of way,” Dowling said. “I initially was interested in pediatrics, but decided that shots and bodily fluids wasn’t my thing. I then figured out that pharmacy would be the best way for me to go.”
About five years ago, Jerry Stanley, then owner of Price Drugs, was nearing retirement and approached Dowling with the opportunity to purchase the business.
Dowling jumped at the chance to own her own pharmacy and help her neighbors and friends.
“I truly love and enjoy my job every day,” said Dowling. “I like being able to interact with the people that come through the door and being able to help others. I’ve known people here since I was itty-bitty, and I am able to make sure they get what they need. That is a special feeling.”
