Local Business Spotlight: Satterwhite's

What’s old is now new again.

Satterwhite’s Furniture has been a part of the Eufaula community for nearly 100 years. Over the last nine-and-a-half decades, the furniture store has been a staple of the downtown scene.

New owners Alenna Peak and Sylvia Adams want to build on that legacy, while also throwing in some of their own ideas along the way.

A lot of people will come in and not notice it’s not the ‘old’ Satterwhite’s,” said Peak, who worked at Satterwhite’s for 22 years before purchasing the business on December 1, 2016. “However, we are going to put our stamp on it and do some things we have been wanting to do for a long time.”

Satterwhite’s provides all the necessities of most furniture stores, but takes pride in offering items that others don’t. Peak also said quality customer service and friendly smile come complimentary with every purchase.

“We offer great customer service,” said Peak. “When you come in the door, you leave as a friend forever. We have sofas, chairs, dining room sets, rugs and more. We can help decorate your home from the floor to the ceiling. This historic building is one thing that sets us apart from other places. Folks will come in, especially those that aren’t from Eufaula, and just rave about our building and setting. A long time ago, we talked about building a new space, but you can’t buy or build what’s in this building.”

In addition to furniture and household items, Satterwhite’s now offers fresh cut flowers. Adams owned a florist in Eufaula for years, and now lends her expertise to the shop’s newest venture. Flowers are available for all occasions, including weddings.

Satterwhite’s is located at 215 E. Broad Street in downtown Eufaula, and is active on both Facebook and Instagram.
