Local Business Spotlight: The Flower Hut

It’s February 13…and you just realized Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. What are you going to do?

Don’t worry fellas. The Flower Hut has you covered.

“We have 1,200 roses this year,” said Tony Ward, owner of The Flower Hut. “There will be four trucks out on delivery. It is busy time of year.”

Tonya Ward has operated The Flower Hut for 16 years, after taking the business over from her mother. Prior to cutting rose stems and making floral arrangements, Ward spent her days as a nurse.

While some may not see any correlation between the two professions, Ward says there are many.

“The two jobs are kind of the same because in the end you are taking care of someone,” Ward said. “They are completely different ways of taking care, but you want to make the person happy. We do everything in remembrance of my mom and how she treated people.”

With Valentine’s Day looming, just hours away, the perfect gift for your significant other may be tucked away on the shelves at the Hut.

The shop is more than just a place to get flowers. Gifts of all shapes and sizes, and balloons are available.

“We will of course have red roses for Valentine’s Day,” said Ward. “We also have yellow, white, pink and purple roses too. We have plenty of candy, cookies, balloons, plants, candles, bracelets, stuffed animals. We have gifts for the kids and men as well.”

The Flower Hut, located at 1975 S. Eufaula Avenue, is your one-stop shop for all your floral needs for an event, including weddings, funerals, birthdays, dances and more.
