Local Business Spotlight: Timberland Harvesters

Timberland Harvesters, (Timberland), was started in 1982.  At that time, there was a need for wood energy and chipping here in Eufaula and we felt that Eufaula would be a great place to start  our business and raise our family.  Some years later, there arose a need for logging; hence, Timberland began their logging service along with their chipping timber service.

Timberland has evolved into a trucking company as the need for hauling wood chips became greater. In addition to hauling wood chips, we purchased a lime hauling company.  Our office here in Eufaula is the headquarters for all of our other companies and terminals.  The banking and accounting are all handled through our main office in Eufaula.   We have terminals located in Carrolton, MS, Tupelo, Ms, Akerman, MS, Alexander City, AL, Albertville, AL, Prattville, AL, Jackson, AL, and Greenville, AL. In addition to the ownership of these operating companies, we purchased and own timber land.

We employ approximately 200 people and we operate approximately 150 trucks.

“Eufaula has been a great place to own a business for 36 years”, says Lanier Edwards, (owner). “The people in Eufaula have been very supportive of me and our business, and I appreciate that.  My favorite thing about my business is our people. I enjoy working with people and getting to know them on a personal basis.
