Outdoor Recreation

On quiet mornings, as the fog rolls off the lake, the hazy profiles of determined anglers appear from out of the darkness, patiently pursuing that trophy largemouth bass. As the southern sun climbs over the afternoon sky, wave runners and water skiers emerge from the shores, kicking up spray up and down the river. Boats carefully maneuver the channel markers, some choosing to float down the river to the Gulf. Then, as the water enthusiasts retreat to their dinners, fishermen once again speckle the creeks and inlets, in search of crappie, bream and catfish. And so the life cycle of the lake continues, every day helping busy people learn to relax and enjoy the best recreation the South has to offer.

Every year Lake Eufaula is host to scores of fishing tournaments. These range from small club contests to some of the biggest bass tournaments in the country and a lot in-between; like the Alabama Children's Classic Bass Tournament held annually to help fund Niemann-Pick Disease research. Check our events calendar, the Lakepoint Resort State Park Marina, and the web sites for B.A.S.S. and FLW Outdoors for upcoming events to enter or to just come watch some exciting weigh-ins!
