Program of Work

Four permanent councils composed of Chamber Members provide the focus for our Program of Work. These four councils work in concert to achieve our ultimate goal to be the membership organization of choice in Eufaula and Barbour County for businesses, municipal governments, individuals and nongovernmental organizations seeking to promote quality growth and an exceptional quality of life for Eufaula and Barbour county.


  • Economic Development

    The Economic Development Council Coordinates the activities of the Chamber specifically identified as economic development initiatives. The Economic Development Council works to attract new industry to Eufaula and Barbour County and assists existing industry. In addition, it has an interest in all aspects of economic growth impacting job creation and business development. It supports our allies and partners in marketing our region for growth and development.

  • Community Development

    The Community Development Council represents the business community in quality of life issues for all citizens living and working in Eufaula and Barbour County. Initiatives include sponsoring Leadership Barbour and further, working to place graduates of this leadership program with volunteer organizations within Barbour County, emphasizing the importance of alumni involvement in the community to make it a better place to work and live. The Community Development Council also sponsors political forums during election years to promote citizen involvement in the Democratic Process.

  • Membership Services

    As the name implies, the Membership Services Council focuses on our Members by identifying resources for Chamber programs and activities. The Council attracts new Members through various recruiting campaigns, sponsorships, and advertising. In addition, the Membership Services Council provides Chamber Members an opportunity for involvement through Chamber activities; Member services, networking events, and the Chamber’s Volunteer Ambassador Group. The Membership Services Council works to ensure that Member participation is recognized as a vital element in the Chamber's success.

  • Tourism

    The Tourism Council Develops programs, services and campaigns that promote Eufaula and Barbour County as a destination for leisure, business and sports travel. Its primary constituent is the local service industry, which is comprised of a number of tangible and intangible components. The tangible elements include transport, foods and beverages, tours, souvenirs and accommodation; while the intangible elements involve education, culture, adventure or simply escape and relaxation. The Tourism Council works to market Eufaula and Barbour County as a destination for tourism, which includes both individual and group travel for historical tourism, eco-tourism and vacationing.
